Total increase has been over $52k

The company I work for has set cost of living (COL) increases every year so long a performance is at acceptable levels. However, once an employee’s salary reaches a certain range, the increase per year drops to a smaller percentage. When I was hired for my current job, it came with a substantial pay increase plus a merit increase so I was almost immediately put at the lower COL percentage for annual increases. Last year, I received a COL increase plus a manager’s discretionary award, as well as nice bonus. That put me well above the threshold to receive the higher COL increase. I always try to work hard at my job because ultimately I am not working for the company, I am working for God (Colossians 3:23-24). But with the world’s Covid economy, the company rumor mill led me to believe that this year’s increases would be bare minimum. I wasn’t bothered by the possibility of little-to-no increase from the company because the company isn’t my source and I was thankful to still have a job! But to my surprise, when I received my compensation package, I not only received another merit increase well above the COL percentage but my bonus increased as well. Since starting with the company a few years ago, total increase has been over $52,000! The evidence of God’s goodness is all over my life!
