The Tipping Point: Section 4

Hey everybody! Pastor Lisa asked me (Michaele) to be the guest blogger this week as she has surgery done on her knee. The staff is getting together to send her some “Mummy” shaped treats with the message, “Bust out of those bandages, in the name of Jesus!” LOL!

Be in agreement with us for a quick and speedy recovery for her. She was full of faith yesterday and excited to get this done!

Section 4

Did anyone else want to stand up and do a slow clap for this section? Wow! I did. From the very first paragraph I thought, “Lord, you might have to hold me back!” ;) I get really passionate about this topic!

I’ve gotten the opportunity to share with parents of our students on building digital guard rails for children and teens. I had a small glimpse of what kids were being exposed to but as I began to do more research my heart began to break for these kids and all I really wanted to tell the parents was — BUY A FLIP PHONE. Before you write me off as crazy, let’s jump into what Jimmy Evans was talking about in these chapters.

Today, we are witnessing a complete rejection of morality, especially since the advent of the internet. In the past quarter century, we have watched the world around us change. - p. 124

I know many of you would agree, as we take a look around, that things have changed drastically in a very short period of time. I was born in 1987, the same timeframe that the World Wide Web was just beginning to be implemented on computers, that probably weighed more than I do. By the time I was in high school I had access to a desktop computer that did not have a camera but had dial-up internet where I could email and online chat with my friends. When I graduated, I was able to get my Facebook account that was originally created for college students only. Fast Forward only 15 years and we now have access to the unimaginable and the ability to share the unthinkable from a small computer that we, along with children as young as first grade or less, carry around in our pockets.

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, and always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth… - 2 Timothy 3:1-9

I was soaking up every word as Evans parallels the immorality that we read about in the days of Noah and Lot with the society we find ourselves in today. As he mentions the men who were banging on Lot’s door trying to commit sexual sin with the angels (Seriously?! Yes, read Genesis 19) — I began to ask myself, what if that was in 2020? That wouldn’t be just an act committed by those two individuals. That act would’ve been live streamed or shared for potentially 100s of thousands of people to witness and some to even commit themselves. The rapid speed in which lawlessness, sin, and immorality can now be committed, shared, and spread is at a rate in which this world has never seen before. If that in itself doesn’t point toward end-times (following all of the signs Pastor Lisa has mentioned in the first 3 sections) WHAT WILL?

“He created morality to protect the people He loves. Immorality devastates and ruins. That’s why Paul told Timothy, “Beware in the last days — dangerous times are going to come.” Believers, we are in dangerous times right now. We live in an age with no moral restraints.” - p.128

When you read the 4 categories of immorality below, think about the difference between these categories during the days of Lot verses today and how they are expounded by social media and devices.

4 Categories of Immorality:

  1. Exaltation of Self

  2. Rejection of Authority

  3. Rejection of Moral Standards

  4. Vicious and Unloving

4 Moral Responses for Believers

  1. Exaltation of Christ Over Self

  2. Submission to God’s Authority and His Delegated Human Authorities

  3. Acceptance of the Bible’s Moral Standards

  4. Loving Others Loyally and Sacrificially

Now more than ever, we have to be a light in darkness! Aren’t you thankful for messages like Pastor Lisa’s latest Salt of The Earth series that teaches us how to navigate these days? We have nothing to fear! We will not be here when God answers this immorality — we will be gone! But until then, we are armed and ready with everything we need. We are protected, our children are protected, and we are ready to share His light and see many come to Christ as we give priority to the Word above everything else - including social media and our devices.

I may be biased, but I’m so thankful for my church and for my pastors. There is no place I would rather be and no one I would rather serve under. I’m so thankful to be able to be fed the Word of God and be given the tools that I need to be the woman, the wife, and the parent that God wants me to be in these last days!

If you have any questions or concerns about setting up digital guard rails for children you can email me or Pastor Julie at julie@theseedchurch.com

If you are an adult who is struggling with digital guard rails I want to encourage you to reach out to your pastors for help so that you can have freedom to be the person God has called you to be! This is a real and serious issue that has become an addiction for both men and women and has ruined families. But God! He is Healer, Deliverer, and Restorer — there is hope!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today. Don't worry Pastor Lisa will be back next week, and she won’t be so long-winded lol ;) Thanks Pastor Lisa for trusting me to write this, I hope I still have a job.

Over and out!

Michaele

The Tipping Point: Section 3

Pastor Kempie and I were watching “Dragnet” this morning which is a crime series filmed in 1969. In this particular episode they were discussing the decline of families, of community, and morality in the world. This was 50 years ago, 50 years! I think they would be shocked if they saw just how bad things were going to get.

The amazing thing is, the Bible prophesied about all this in 1 Thessalonians and 2 Timothy. Evans then begins to talk about the rapture or the “taking away” of the church. I believe we are so close just by looking at the three scenes of the end times he details in this section.

  1. The great falling away and the arrival of the anti-christ

  2. The rapture of the church

  3. The tribulation

As I read social media, I am amazed at the people I thought were solid Christians that have totally changed what they once believed. They have walked away from the Word of God and the values of right living.

Believe God and His Word, and the tribulation will not be your destiny.

Luke warns us not to get so weighed down with life that we miss the rapture. Reading the way life will be during the tribulation should make us all want to know for sure that we will be outta’ here!

Make sure to read this section and share your thoughts on the group post!

Pastor Lisa

The Tipping Point (available for purchase in our bookstore & also on audible!)
by: Jimmy Evans

Everything that God created or has set in motion is done with purpose to lead and guide us. The stars announced the birth of Jesus and the stars will announce the second coming of Jesus as well. I want to be aware and knowledgeable of these signs that God ordained, however, like Jimmy emphasized, I don’t want to be so consumed with the signs that I become distracted with every single celestial event.

Did you enjoy reading the history of the events in the sky and the events on the Earth? How cool is it that we have access to this list of events right in front of us in black and white, every single day! These signs are hard to ignore.

Join me on the group wall this week and let’s talk about this chapter! Thanks again for following along in our new book.

Section 1 (Chapters 1-3)

“The Bible is Beautiful”. As we read it we become aware of His intense love for us and His love for Israel. Woven into this beautiful love story of God and His children we also find prophecies given to warn, protect, and point to His coming as Jesus the Messiah, and His second coming as Jesus the King.

Jimmy Evans lists 5 prophecies regarding Israel that highlight and validate the fact that Jesus is coming soon:

  1. Israel Regathered Twice

  2. Israel Born in One Day

  3. Israel Regathered from the North

  4. Jerusalem Re-taken by the Jews

  5. The Land of Israel is Divided

Why is Israel such an integral part of the story?

“Through Israel, God would show His love, and bring salvation to the entire race.” Israel is also God’s “super-sign”.

All the signs are here, Jesus is coming back soon for us. Reading this book will only strengthen the urgency of sharing Jesus with others! For those of you who have facebook, I want to hear from on the group wall! Do you feel this urgency like never before? What stuck out to you the most within just these first 3 chapters? I can’t wait to hear from you!

Miracles & the Supernatural - Ch. 17 & 18

We have all faced tragedy in our lives including us as pastors. I believe in a God of miracles, I believe in healing, and I believe in the authority and power of the Word and yet I have felt the loss of my Father, my brother-in-law, and my 15 year old niece. We must come to realize that our circumstances do not change God’s Word, His character, or love for us. It helps when we know that we are not citizens of this World but we are citizens of Heaven and this is not our final resting place. It’s amazing how the Word can bring healing to every part of our bodies, even our emotions. Jesus Himself faced great disappointment and hurt when his cousin John was brutally murdered. The very reason John was executed was because of his love for Jesus, can you imagine?

Jesus did not give up on or turn away from the supernatural, miracle-working power of God because of a significant disappointment. His compassion not only led Him to heal the sick, but then He also fed five thousand people — another miracle (Matt 14:15-21)

As we study the Word it is easy to focus on the great miracles that were performed but there are also passages that help us to realize that there are circumstances we can’t always explain or will not fully know but that it does not change God’s Word.

We must have faith bigger than life. our faith cannot be superficial or circumstantial. Our faith must be bigger than today, and bigger than tomorrow. Our faith must be greater than any circumstance we ever dealt with. Faith is more about Heaven than it is about earth. Our faith takes us beyond this planet.

The enemy would love nothing more than for us to question God’s Word and not be able to receive the healing we need to move forward. If we could only grasp how temporary our time is here on Earth in comparison to eternity! I’m reminded of our guest speaker, Pastor Billy Joe Watts’ recent message on being driven by eternity. If we don’t want to be swallowed up in the fruit of this World that is filled with bitterness and disappointment than we must keep our eyes focused on the only source we can trust — the truth of God’s Word! “Our hope and our faith must transcend whatever happens or does not happen during our life here on earth.” (p. 318)

And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world
— 1 Corinthians 15:19

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle fo God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himslef will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” - Revelation 21: 3-4

Tony Cooke wraps up this book with a great reminder that God did not give us a mandate of going into the world and performing miracles but the mandate we have been given is to, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15) and to “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:19-20) Remember, the greatest miracles we will ever witness is that of salvation. All of Heaven rejoices the moment someone makes the decision to accept Jesus as their savior. How incredible!

I am so excited for the season that we are in! As the World continues in turmoil we are running to His Word with full force and we are preparing for a great harvest of souls because we have the answer! At last week’s Tuesday night prayer with one voice we all shouted, “We will not retreat, we will not abandon our posts!” You were made for such a time as this — to be do-ers of the Word and to see the signs that shall follow as you continue to believe!

Get ready! As my dad used to say, “We ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”

Love you,

Pastor Lisa

Ps - Thank you for everyone who has followed along with me for this book. I’m excited to announce our next book by Jimmy Evans — “The Tipping Point” pick up your copy in the bookstore this weekend and get ready to continue to grow!

Miracles & the Supernatural - Ch. 15 & 16

As I have shared many times, I am so thankful that I grew up in a Pentecostal household. I am thankful I was able to be taught from a young age the balance of the Word and being led by the Spirit of God. The feeling of being in a service where the gifts of the Spirit are flowing and being able to see the miraculous at work is indescribable. There have also been times I have witnessed an imbalance and as a result have seen people who were described as “flaky”. To protect ourselves from also becoming flaky, we must be careful not to seek the manifestation but to seek the person of God and yet we must not be so afraid that we limit what God can do. As a result, we will remain balanced and see His power at work!

“In Pentecostalism poor and broken people discover that what they read in the Gospels is happening now in their midst.” - Richard Shaull (p. 269)

I have seen the misuse and abuse of these gifts and I have also seen the power it has to change people’s lives. Seeing others set free and lives transformed makes it all worthwhile. As the old saying goes: “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.” In the words of Kenneth E. Hagin, “I would rather have wildfire than no fire at all”.

“Never make what He does more important than who He is.” I know Tony Cooke said this in his book — but when I read it all I can hear is my mother’s voice. This was drilled into me — “It’s all about WHO He is!”

Let it be said of us as it was of Jesus,

He was led by the Holy Spirit; motivated by compassion, and carried out the Father’s will in everything.
— p. 308

Anyone else want this said about your life? Me too! Make sure to share your thoughts on the group page and get ready to purchase our next book that we will be announcing next week!

Miracles & the Supernatural - Ch. 13 & 14

Kenneth E. Hagin has always said that “healing is the dinner bell for the gospel.” The healing of the body opens people up for the saving of their spirit. Blumhardt states, “…healing is an expression of God’s Love and compassion toward His people,” (p.230) Simply put, the healing of our bodies demonstrates God’s power, might, willingness, mercy, compassion, incredible love toward us! If we were created for Him, wouldn’t He want us healthy, whole, and strong? Nothing else makes sense.

Reading about these different ministers, reveals that God is not bound by one method. Many were healed by the laying on of hands, others by worship and thanksgiving, and many by simply reading the Word of God.

The mode of treatment is exceedingly simple. The first and main objective is to impress the heart; the cure of the body is secondary. There is a short service — a Bible hour — three times a day, and personal visitation of the patients besides. Prayer is made for them, hands are laid on them, and they are anointed with oil. - Trudel 1813-1862 (p. 233)

We are to take every opportunity to minster to the needs of people so that God can also work on their hearts. Every word and every promise in the Word of God is for us! Let’s take it as if it was written just for us. Oh wait, it is! He wrote it for me and He wrote it for you!

The world will be swept by His Spirit as by a rushing, mighty wind. Many who are now silent Christians will lead the movement. They will see a great light, and will reflect this light to thousands now in darkness. Thousands will do more than we have accomplished as God gives them power. - Evan Roberts prophetically speaking of Azusa Street (p.254)

It’s time for another “Great Awakening” — take your place!

Miracles & the Supernatural - Ch. 11 & 12

Have you noticed that every time the presence of God is manifested there is conviction of sin and repentance? As people experience the forgiveness of their sins, the love of God consumes them. The result — transformation! Love, joy, praise, and compassion is manifested and it not only changes the individual, it changes the community!

We are not to desire gifts just for the supernatural, we are to desire them to save the lost. Our goal should be that of Charles Finney’s, ”to see repentance and faith established in people’s lives…” (p. 191) He wanted people to recognize, “the difference between the substance of revival and the effect of revival”. (p. 194) What we should see from revival is salvation and transformation.

When God moves, when we experience His presence in our services, let’s heed the advice of Charles Spurgeon, “Dear friends, we have had the Spirit of God here very manifestly tonight; let us go home, and take care not to lose His gracious influences.” (p. 204)

Worship is not something we do for an hour on Sunday — it is a lifestyle.

If we want to experience a great move of God and to operate freely in the gifts of the Spirit, we must have these seven vital factors in our life.

R.A Torrey, associate of D.L Moody, wrote that Moody:

  1. Was a Fully Surrendered Man

  2. Was a Man of Prayer

  3. Was a Deep and Practical Student of the Bible

  4. Was a Humble Man

  5. Was Entirely Free from the Love of Money

  6. Had a Consuming Passion for the Salvation of the Lost

  7. Was Endued with Power from on High

These 7 factors (p.218) are why God used D.L. Moody, and why He will use us.

“I firmly believe that if we had this building filled with men and women expecting the Pentecostal power, we would get it. I believe if this building was filled with men and women hungry for the Spirit of God, we would have this place shaken, and there would be an influence let not only in this land, but in foreign lands. It wouldn’t take long to reach the whole world. Talk about twenty years. It needn’t take twenty years if the Church of God is baptized and quickened.” - D.L. Moody (p. 221)

Let’s get busy expecting that Pentecostal fire in us to ensure everyone comes to the knowledge of Jesus Christ!

Miracles and the Supernatural - Ch. 9 & 10

Taste and see that the Lord is good
— Psalm 34:8

“Intellectual assent to proper doctrine is not the same as having a living, vibrant, and personal relationship with God.” - p. 139

Fox did not believe that this power belonged to him — he knew it was God’s power, and that it was to confirm the preaching of the gospel, Fox told his fellow ministers, “So, in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ preach the everlasting gospel, that by his power the sick may be healed, the leprous cleansed, the dead raised, the blind eyes opened, and the devils cast out.” -p. 142

William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania and also a quaker wrote that he was “most impressed” by the ministry of George Fox and that, “Above all, he excelled in prayer.”

When I read the words, “Above all, he excelled in prayer,” I think about the amount of time George Fox was spending in prayer when he wasn’t in front of others. The power of God that was able to operate in his ministry and the reason he was able to follow the Holy Spirit’s direction into pioneering the fastest-growing Christian movement in the Western World was not because he was a scholar or because of any natural ability he obtained, rather, because of the intimate and consistent time that he spent on his knees before God. By the year 1660, their were 40,000 to 60,000 people that were a part of this charismatic movement.

During this same time in the 17th century, Philip Jacob Spener, a German author and minister wrote passionately about church reformation:

What they take to be faith and what is the ground of their teaching is by no means that true faith which is awakened through the Word of God, by the illumination, witness, and sealing of the Holy Spirit, but is a human fancy. To be sure, as others have acquired knowledge in their fields of study, so these preachers, with their own human efforts and without the working of the Holy spirit, have learned something of the letter of the scriptures, have comprehended and assented to true doctrine, and have even known how to preach it to others, but they are altogether unacquainted with the true, heavenly light and the life of faith. - p. 145

Are you grasping the theme that seems to be happening in these chapters? It’s amazing to me that this same message is spanning time between centuries and distances between continents, however, it remains the same — God desires us. He wants our love, our fellowship, our time. He wants to be priority. He wants us to know Him and be able to hear and follow Him alone.

The real cause of the loss was that the love of many, almost all the so-called Christians had grown cold. The Christians had no more of the Spirit of Christ than the other heathens. The Son of Man, when He came to examine His church, could hardly find faith on earth. This was the real cause why the extraordinary gifts of the Holy Spirit were no longer to be found in the Christian church after that time. It was because the Christians had turned heathen again, and had only a dead form left. So, when this faith and holiness were nearly lost, dry, formal, orthodox men began even then to ridicule whatever gifts they did not have themselves. They belittled and discredited all the gifts of the Spirit as either madness or fraud" - John Wesley p. 169

It’s time again for the church to wake up so that the Word can be confirmed among believers and non-believers. So that the power of God can move and work to set people free! Let’s spend time in these chapters this week reading all that God did then and begin to expect a mighty move of God in this generation. Let these chapters challenge you to step up your time with God. Is He truly your first priority? What is getting in the way of your time with Him? Nothing should be more important. Learn to put God as first place in your life and watch and see all that will be accomplished! Nothing is impossible with our God!

Let’s share some testimonies on the wall this week — When you made God first place in your life, how did things change? Has God showed up in your life? Share on this week’s post here - Click here for our facebook group

Miracles and the Supernatural - Ch. 7 & 8

“The role of the Holy Spirit in illuminating the mind of the believer as to the meaning of scripture, trusting Him to unveil and reveal even the nuanced meanings of God’s Word.” - (Hilary) p.116

Hilary recognized the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 were clearly ordained by God to benefit the body of Christ. A young man who studied under Hilary witnessed his mission to evangelize to all of those around him. When describing Hilary, it was said that he, “displaying a kind of heavenly, happiness in his countenance…and that his mind always bent upon the things of heaven.”

Sounds like he was driven by eternity! He was credited with many miraculous healings and winning many to Christ. Many of these men recognized that the Holy Spirit has a two-fold purpose. We must recognize that He strengthens us, helps us to obtain faith, teaches us to walk in love, and helps us to maintain hope. All of this is so that we can look outward and realize that these gifts (word of wisdom, knowledge, healings etc.) are to help others.

Martin Luther, a well known theologian may have been brash and bold but I believe he shows that if you are really seeking truth from God, He will illuminate scripture and truth to you. His 5 solas are still true today and continue to influence the church. Unfortunately, he was so careful to not participate in unholy practices that he missed some opportunities to flow in the healing ministry. At times his compassion for the people would cause him to pray for their healing and God would heal them. Page 133 provides us with proof of just one of these instances —

Myconius was in the last stage of consumption, and already speechless. Luther wrote to him that he must not die: “May God not let me hear, so long as I live, that you are dead, but cause you to survive me. I pray this earnestly, and will have it granted, and my will will be done herein. Amen.” “I was so horrified,” said Myconius afterwards, “when I read what the good man had written, that it seemed to me as though I had heard Christ say, “Lazarus, come forth.” And from that time Myconius was, as it were, kept from the grave by the power of Luther’s prayer, and did not die till after Luther’s death. - p.133

There is nothing like receiving the Holy Ghost and to partake of His gifts! If you have a testimony you would like to share of how the gifts have moved and worked in your life, share with us on the group wall this week — facebook group. Thanks for follow along!

Miracles and the Supernatural- Ch. 5 & 6

How amazing is it that we have access to these testimonies that were recorded so early in history? On page 88 Tony Cooke highlights the story of a professor who experienced the transforming power of God the very moment he heard Romans 13:13-14, “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkeness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts”

Professor Augustine wrote,

For instantly, as the sentence ended, there was infused in my heart something like the light of full certainty and all the gloom of doubt vanished away.

What a miracle! A man described as “sensual” and who had no knowledge of the Word of God instantly was transformed. With the reading of the Word, His spiritual eyes were opened to truth and he no longer had any doubt. Much later in his life, He shared that he had witnessed so many miracles that they were too many to record.

As we near the return of the Lord I believe that we will witness an even greater manifestation of the supernatural. Eyes being opened and hearts being turned to serve God in spirit and in truth. We have a job to do! The church must get prepared.

“In the second half of the second century a change was coming over the church. The days of enthusiasm were passing and the days of ecclesiasticism were arriving. The church was no longer a place where the Spirit of prophecy could be heard. More and more people were joining the churches, but the distinction between church and world was fading. The church was becoming secularized.” -page 95

Sound familiar? Even then the enemy was attempting to keep the move of the Holy Spirit out of churches. In reference to the Montanists who were experiencing a move of God, John Wesley wrote that the reason the “miraculous gifts were so soon withdrawn, was not only that faith and holiness were well-nigh lost; but that dry, formal, orthodox men began even then to ridicule whatever gifts they had not themselves, and to decry them all as either madness or imposture.”

Not here! We are a church that lives by faith and walks in holiness. We welcome the gifts of the holy spirit and as a result will continue to witness great and mighty works! We will also continue to pray for the church as a whole to wake up to the supernatural and that many will turn to God in these last days.

There is so much to cover in these chapters, what stuck out to you? Make sure to share with me on our facebook group. I’m excited to continue this book with you! Be expectant for the supernatural in your life!

Miracles and the Supernatural - Ch. 3 & 4

I love reading about past men and women who God used in miraculous ways. When I read what others said about them I think, “What will they say about me?”. I too want to be known as:

  • a soul boiling with passionate divine love

  • someone who is not lacking and abounding in every spiritual gift

  • someone who is armed and strengthened by the spirit

I don’t want my fire to burn for an hour and then go out. I want the fire of God to continue burning inside (Just like we learned in Life Ablaze). To keep the fire ablaze it is all up to us. Just like Ignatius encourages Polycarp we must, “linger constantly in prayer. Seek a greater understanding than you have.”

We must understand the role of the Holy Spirit and cultivate our relationship with Him. If we allow, the Holy Spirit will be active in our lives.

“This is He who restrains insatiable desires, controls immoderate lusts, quenches unlawful fires, conquers reckless impulses, repels drunkenness, checks avarice, drives away luxurious revelings, links love, binds together affections, keeps down sects, orders the rule of truth, overcomes heretics, turns out the wicked, guards the Gospel…” -p.74

We must recognize the power and the purpose of the Holy Spirit. Get in the Word, pray in the Holy Spirit, serve Him with everything you have —

“do wonderful things, perform many miracles, cleanse lepers, cast out demons, dispel bodily sicknesses by touch, (and) predict things to come by the spirit of prophecy” - p.75

Miracles and the Supernatural - Chapters 1 & 2

As I was reading my Bible the other morning, Luke told Theophilus that he was writing, “so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught.” (Luke 1:4) That is exactly why Tony Cooke wrote this book, to give an accurate account of the supernatural so that we can believe all that we have been taught.

We believe scripture emphatically, and we listen respectfully, and with discernment to the teachings and the stories of our spiritual predecessors who lived following the time of the first century believers

We are so close to the end times and therefore I am much more interested in walking in all that God has for us, the fullness of the power available to us, and carrying out the mission we are called to. Everything about the gospel is supernatural. Just read all that the Holy Spirit does on p. 37-38. All of it is available to us. The Holy Spirit supplies all that we need to walk in the supernatural. Let’s get our faith involved!

Is the supernatural new to you? Don’t worry, it was new to many others too. Just read the story of Gideon and many more on pages 50-51. Read each one of them and expect God to move in your life too.

We must be people who have been transformed, who are full of wisdom, and ready to take action with God’s enablement and empowerment
— p. 31

Get ready!

Book club is back and it is going to be supernatural! (pun intended)

I am so excited about starting our next book — Miracles and the Supernatural Throughout Church History by Tony Cooke. We are diving in full force into the supernatural work of God. We were never meant to live a life in Christ without the miracle-power of God in us and flowing out of us. The power is not for us to get things but to change things.

As it was in the earliest days of the church, so it is today; there remains a great need for people “of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom”
— Introduction, (Acts 6:3)

I can’t wait for you to join us as we discuss the marvelous power of God at work in the day we live in. More books came in today so pick up yours this week!

The Grace of Healing: Chapter 10

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble.’
— James 4:6

We are never in need for more grace! Jesus did not forget one sin or overlook one disease.

In heaven I am seated, but on earth the work is not done! I must apply the word to my daily walk with God so I can be more and more changed.

Everyday, we need to wash the world off of us by His Word. We need to remember that healing is ours just as much as the forgiveness of sins. Start declaring: “No sickness and disease can come near me! There is no feebleness in me!”

Enjoy what God has provided for you and walk in divine health!

The Grace of Healing: Chapters 8 & 9

I truly believe that many really do not understand why we take communion (other than because Jesus said to) or the fact that communion is the New Testament Passover. We understand that the elements represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ but it also represents what the blood and body of Christ accomplished. As Bob Yandian says, “It all points back to work Jesus has done.”

Communion speaks stronger of the grace of God than every form or ritual we have in the church today.
— Chapter 8, pg 117

Communion is a visual reminder of both the forgiveness of sins (blood/juice) and healing (body/bread) more than anything else. The two are inseparable, and faith receives them both. You can easily receive the forgiveness of your sins, and with that same faith receive your healing.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.
— 2 Chronicles 16:9

God is full of compassion and “delights in mercy.” (Micah 7:18) He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In our sin, He loved us, was beaten for our sickness, and died for our sins. Whatever you need from him, just reach out and receive it.

The Grace of Healing: Chapter 6 & 7

Wow! Reading these chapters and keeping in mind all God has done in our last two services is amazing. Last Sunday, God instructed us to use our faith and pick up the spoils of war and take back all the enemy had stolen. This Sunday, as the altar was filled with people praising God, all of Heaven was open to us. The gift of healing was in operation. All we were instructed to do was — receive!

What Jesus did for us on the cross was the final say when it comes to our salvation and the healing of every single disease — it is finished, it is done! That’s enough for us to just stop and rejoice right here, right now.

“When you receive forgiveness of sins or healing of any disease, you fulfill in your life what God accomplished before the world began.” - p.97

“With your empty hand of faith, reach out and receive what God provided for you through the cross of Jesus, forgiveness of every sin and healing of every disease” - p.98

I love how Pastor Bob illustrates grace as God’s hand reaching out to us to give us everything that we need and faith is our hand simply reaching out to receive. He has provided everything that we need.

In Luke 4:16-22, Jesus read from Isaiah in reference to what He was prepared to do right then and right there:

  1. To preach the gospel to the poor (In the natural and spiritual) He was made poor so that we might be made rich, he bore our poverty!

  2. To heal the brokenhearted (emotional healing including depression, confusion, bitterness, anger, etc)

  3. To deliver and set the captives free from demonic control

  4. To recover sight for the blind

  5. To set at liberty those who are bruised (emotional scars from past relationships or circumstances of abuse)

  6. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord - the Year of Jubilee!

All of this was theirs for the taking in that very moment in the synagogue. Isn’t it amazing that at first they “marveled at the gracious words that proceedeth out of his mouth…” (Luke 4:22) but then their natural way of thinking began to creep in — why would He call this the year of Jubilee? They knew that in the natural that wasn’t right, it was still years off according to the calendar.

I don’t know about you but I want to be open to receive every single benefit God has already provided! I believe that this is the year of jubilee!

Jubilee was a time for all possessions to return to the original owners, a cleansing of the national economy, to right all property violations that had occurred to individuals and families during the previous fifty years. p.107

In this year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possessions
— Leviticus 25:13

This is our year of jubilee! I want to encourage you like Pastor Bob said, “Go to the property office of God’s Word” and claim what is yours. Take back every single thing Satan has attempted to steal from you and declare a year of Jubilee for our Nation, over our church, over your families, and over every area of your life. This is jubilee!

The Grace of Healing: Chapter 4 & 5

The basic truth we’re discussing in these chapters is that God knows everything. He not only knows the situations that we are currently facing but He knows the outcome. One would think, knowing this fact, we would be able to fully surrender to Him, and obey Him quickly. But no — we try to remind God of things we think He doesn’t know. It sounds ridiculous when you see this way of thinking written out doesn’t it?

God knows everything and He made a way of escape for everyone, even if the circumstances were caused by our own doing. God’s mercies are new every morning. Each morning you wake up to start all over — wake up with the attitude of; “It’s a great day for my miracle.”

He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases
— Psalm 103:3

That’s our God! he forgives us and heals us and gives us the ability to start all over again.

“Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. Large crowds followed Him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.” - Matt. 4":23-25

Jesus healed everyone of everything! He forgave their sins and healed their bodies. They didn’t go through an interview before they were healed — Jesus healed them. Pastor Bob gives you 7 cases of healing to show that they are all different. There is not a certain rule, category, or disease list. He heals them all!

Receive your healing today!

The Grace of Healing: Chapter 2 & 3

No more diet and exercise ;) Music to my ears, unfortunately, that isn’t really what Pastor Bob was saying in these two chapters.

First, let’s start with how awesome our God is. He is the one who created us. If we believe He created us then why would we doubt the fact that He would provide a way for our bodies to heal themselves? This ability proves that sickness is not His will for us.

Chapter 2 covers four healing points:

  • Sickness comes from Satan

  • Creation shows God’s attitude towards sickness

  • Our bodies are made in God’s image

  • God’s nature is healing

The very first passover and now communion is a reminder that Jesus’ death, burial & resurrection provided not only salvation but healing. He heals spirit, soul, and body. “When we were born again, we ate all of Jesus and every one of His perfect parts.” - p. 37

Chapter 3, Pastor Bob explains that your health is not about diet and exercise, it is about what’s in your heart. Remember, “for out of it flows the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23)

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
— Romans 14:17

Righteousness is freedom from original sin and a walk of daily holiness. Peace is the result of salvation and daily growth in God’s Word. Joy is a life of praise, worship, and living with the expectation of God’s deliverance from all of life’s problems. These three do more to keep you in health than examining product labels.

He goes on to cover several things that bring health:

  • A good attitude

  • Trust and praise in God’s plan for your future

  • Freedom from strife in the home

  • Telling the truth

  • Encouraging words from others

  • Peace

  • Submission and honor toward leadership

All of it has a place, your spiritual health will always affect your physical health!

The Grace of Healing: Introduction & Chapter 1

I was so blessed to grow up in a Spirit-filled, Word of Faith church that was and is balanced. Even though my parents started the ministry when I was a teenager, I grew up hearing Kenneth Hagin, Bob Yandian, Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, and many other Fathers of the Faith. We frequently had Bible studies with college students at our home and of course I soaked up ever word. I’m not sure if it was a love for the Word or the fact I got to hang around college students but regardless I was saturated in the Word and heard grace and faith taught in balance.

I am so grateful for this book as many people have not had the privilege of being able to grow up feeding on balanced teaching of the Word. Much like Pastor Bob, my walk with God is, “attributed to two things designed by God to work together — His grace and my faith.” Understanding this brings true joy in Christ.

“For those who only see a need for grace, the Christian life, as well as healing, becomes a matter of God’s sovereignty. In other words, God saves and heals those He chooses, and a persons faith has little or nothing to do with it. For those who only see a need for faith, life becomes legalistic. Salvation, healing, and the Christian life become focused on works, a struggle to obtain and to maintain.” - p. 13

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
— Ephesians 2 : 8-9

Grace is God’s hand reaching out to you filled with everything you need, already paid for, already completed. Faith is our hand reaching out to receive it!

We have the easy part, we just receive what someone else has already done — we can take no credit for what is received. What did we receive through salvation? He saved us, delivered us, made us whole, preserved us safe from danger, rescued us from loss and destruction.

Go back and read Pastor Bob’s analogy about a car in the opening chapter that explains — “Our faith gives supernatural quickening to a sinful life, a poverty-ridden life, and a life of sickness and disease.” What do you need from God? Just reach out and receive it!

I’m so excited to begin a new book with you this month!
