The Grace of Healing: Chapters 8 & 9

I truly believe that many really do not understand why we take communion (other than because Jesus said to) or the fact that communion is the New Testament Passover. We understand that the elements represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ but it also represents what the blood and body of Christ accomplished. As Bob Yandian says, “It all points back to work Jesus has done.”

Communion speaks stronger of the grace of God than every form or ritual we have in the church today.
— Chapter 8, pg 117

Communion is a visual reminder of both the forgiveness of sins (blood/juice) and healing (body/bread) more than anything else. The two are inseparable, and faith receives them both. You can easily receive the forgiveness of your sins, and with that same faith receive your healing.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.
— 2 Chronicles 16:9

God is full of compassion and “delights in mercy.” (Micah 7:18) He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In our sin, He loved us, was beaten for our sickness, and died for our sins. Whatever you need from him, just reach out and receive it.

Love,

Pastor Lisa
