Day 9: How Spiritual Vagabonds are Born

Day 9: How Spiritual Vagabonds are Born
Read Chapter 5 (stopping at “The Planted Flourish”)

One thing that needs to be clear — God never tests us with evil. Remember, James 1:13 says, “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”, for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” Instead, our response to situations in our lives can determine our outcome.

Right after I quit my job and accepted the call to pastor, the Lord reminded me of a conversation I had 11 years earlier. The Lord said, “How you responded to that situation, set you up for me to be able to use you now.” There are many divine opportunities that will determine God’s ability to use us in the future. Another example, is by our decision to remain faithful to the local church regardless if we think leaders are not making the right decisions, doing things differently than what we think is best, or even by hurting our feelings. God will always reward faithfulness!

“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath, for it is written, “vengeance is mine, I will repay.” says the Lord.” - Romans 12:19

In other words, stand aside, keep your mouth shut, remain faithful, and let the wrath of God have free course to accomplish what He wants.
