Balm of Gilead: Chapters 5-8

Book: His Healing Power by Lillian B. Yeomans

Before becoming a pastor, I worked as a nurse and managed a wound care center within one of our local hospitals. I would frequently work along side surgeons who were operating on extremely deep and messy wounds. During one particular surgery, the patient seemed to be losing a large amount of blood and out of concern I made a comment to the doctor. He replied, “Lisa, bleeding is a sign of life!” I thought, “that is true but not if all of the blood continues to flow out!”

What does the blood do for the body?

  1. Removes waste and carbon dioxide

  2. Carries nutrients

  3. Regulates temperature

  4. Transfers Oxygen to each cell of the body

  5. Hormones for emergency

  6. Defends the body

  7. Stops hemorrhaging, seals the wounds, and begins the repair process

They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
— Romans 1:19-20

The things that human blood does for our bodies is just a representation for what the blood of Jesus has already done for us! His blood has removed our waste, provided for us, carried us, protected us, healed us, and more! Studying how God created us we can clearly see His intent for His design. Even in His design, he built a system for healing. How much more does God desire His children to walk in His healing in every area?

It’s our job to share this with others. In chapter 7, Lillian Yeomans, talks about why God desires us to be the salt of the Earth,

“Healing, health preserving, antiseptic, causing unsound places to heal up? Yes, it is all of these, and sometimes it makes people who have these unsound places on them smart in the process of healing them. Arresting decay, destruction, and putrefactive processes? Yes, God’s salt does all of these things..” (p.229)

Let’s learn how to live as salt of the Earth and not lose our Savor! I want to encourage you, if you have not picked up this book, do it now. Start from this book and continue to study on God’s desire for healing and how we are to live out that healing and be the salt of the Earth.

Balm of Gilead: Chapters 1-4

We must realize that Satan is real and he wants to destroy us. He wants to take us out anyway that he can with facts, with lies, or somewhere in between. He will use whatever he can to get us to feel unworthy, undeserving, or unloved. Some of us do believe that God can heal but don’t fully and truly believe He will do it for us. The truth is that God CAN heal, that Jesus DOES love us, and that He is seated at the right hand of the Father praying on our behalf. He died so we could be saved, healed, and delivered. His Word is true no matter how we feel!

“When you let symptoms and feelings make you doubt that you were healed (past tense) by those stripes that the Lord Jesus Christ bore for you, you simply turn off the healing power, the heavenly electricity.” p.208

We are not to go by how we feel or by what we see, or by what we hear. We are to stand on the Word. His Word is our truth, His Word is our reality. I love what the Lord said to Dr. Yeomans when she felt she couldn't get out of bed one day: “Walk on the water. You have been looking for improvements in symptoms, a change in the natural order of things. Stop it. That isn’t it at all. My Word is absolutely true. My healing is supernatural. It doesn't matter how you feel. Step out..”( p.214)

So stop it - get up-rejoice! Be glad and rejoice (Joel 2:21). Our joy comes from knowing that our redeemer lives and that because of the finished work on the cross “WE ARE HEALED”.

The Balm of Gilead: Book 3 Intro

“It is our inalienable right to enjoy health through the work accomplished on Calvary, it is our solemn responsibility to make this saving health (know) among all nations’” -p.197

We are just like the children of Israel asking ‘is there no cure?”. Jeremiah 8:22 says that they cried unto God, “Is there no balm in Gilead?” Just like us they were looking for natured remedies, looking for a physician who could cure them. In Jeremiah 46:11 the Lord tells them to go ahead and look to man, it will not work. Man can only mask or alleviate our symptoms, rarely do they offer a cure.

Jesus paid the price on the cross to not only alienate our symptoms, but to cure us! He gave us the cure (His Word) and how to take it.

My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
— Proverbs 4:20-22

We are to mediate on His Word. Say it over and over again, out loud. This will let it penetrate into the core of our being - our spirit. Then when symptoms flare up, the word comes out of our mouth. The difference is the Word doesn’t just take care of our symptoms, it also takes care of whatever causes it.

Jesus paid it ALL. Spirit, soul, and body. Every part of us is well!

The Great Physician: Chapters 7-9

I love the way Dr. Yoeoman describes “giants” in our lives as bread. Caleb, when looking into the promised land didn't see giants that could overtake him. He saw bread that was meant for him to eat and devour. I can totally relate to that being on the Keto diet because whenever I see bread I want to devour it! We need to view our problems and anything that comes against us as bread and devour it. “Devour, eat up every difficulty and trial that comes your way. You will wax stronger and stronger.” p. 154

Gobble up one problem at a time. Chew on it, and spit it out! This will make you an overcomer. Faith mixed with praise will always result in victory. There comes a time when just like Hezekiah, you have to push everything else aside. “Every voice, every report, every symptom, every feeling, and face the wall.” The only place to look is in the face of Jesus - His Word. Then and only then does the phrase, “All things are possible” become a reality.

The Bible calls us joint heirs with Jesus and our job is to carry out the work of God on the Earth. We are to believe in the one and only true God and let nothing else shake us. Remember the song, “On Christ, the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand?” It is on that rock that you have been delivered from anything that resembles sickness or disease.

“On Christ, the Solid Rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand”

And it’s true: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Yahweh will be rescued and experience new life.”
— Romans 10:13 (TPT)

Today, I want to encourage you to call on the name of the Lord and begin to sing the song,” On Christ, the Solid Rock I stand!” Anything that is below that — guilt, condemnation, sickness, disease, and anything that kills, steals, or destroys: you have been delivered from. All of this, all other things, are sinking sand!

Start singing today and watch what God does.

The Great Physician: Chapters 4-6

So many times when we are facing a physical condition, sickness, disease, or pain, we tend to focus on what our body is telling us. After all, isn't that what the world tells us? Pay attention to your body. What is your body telling you? Yet, God tells us just the opposite. Our body shouldn’t be talking to us, we should be talking to our bodies. We are healed. We are whole. We are renewed in strength and power. Isn’t that what Abraham did?

Romans 4:19-23

19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness. 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,”

“How did he reconcile these two irreconcilables? You remember what they were: God’s Word which declared him the father of nations, and the deduction of human reason, based upon the evident physical impossibility of his begetting offspring.” p. 150

He didn’t try to reconcile them, he ignored his body and believed God’s Word. This is exactly what we have to do. Verse 23 tells us this wasn’t written for Abraham’s sake but for ours. When your body is screaming that you are not healed, consider not. When your body is telling you their is another symptom, you are not healed, consider not.

Let’s not be like the religious leaders in the house where Jesus was teaching, “listening with ears that were deaf to the divine power of the message; gazing with eyes blinded lest the light of the glorious gospel should shine into them;” p. 141 Let’s be like Abraham and believe that God’s Word is the final authority and what His Word says is true.

From every stormy wind that blows. from every swelling tide of woes, there is a safe, a sure retreat, ‘Tis found at Jesus’ sacred feet

We are living in the time where we have a right to expect God to heal, expect God to deliver, expect God to move in our lives, in response to our faith. He will not disappoint!

The Great Physician: Chapters 1-3

Here is that Mark 16: 18 verse again, “they shall lays hands on the sick and they shall recover.” We have to take that literally. People are longing to see Jesus and how they see him is through us. Jesus saving, Jesus healing, Jesus baptizing, and Jesus loving.

In the first couple of chapters we meet 2 people, the woman of Canaan (Matthew 15:21-28), and the man with the withered hand (Luke 6:6-11). Two different people with two different approaches to God. Each of them were healed and each of them had to do something to be healed. We often refer to it as “working the Word”. Let’s look at each of these examples and what they had to overcome, how they stepped out in faith, and how they received their healing.

The Woman of Canaan:

Not a daughter of the covenant, a heathen of the worst kind. Not wanted, Nothing working in her favor, exhausted all means of getting better, yet she heard about this Jesus, who said “come all ye who are burdened and heavy laden.” She went. Jesus completely ignored her. At that point she could have been offended and left, her daughter still sick, her feelings hurt, and telling everyone this Jesus is not what everyone says he is. She didn’t, she lifted her voice one more time and say, “Lord, help me!”. This time Jesus didn’t ignore her, he insulted her. Now she definitely has a reason to leave offended and she didn’t. She knew that even if what he said was true, he still had what she needed and that was her healing, so she said to Jesus; “You will not deny me.” Her faith made her daughter whole!

Her path was beset with difficulties, butt difficulties are the food on which real faith thrives best. p.131

The Man with the Withered Hand:

Jesus was teaching in the synagogue and there was a man with a withered hand. The Lord started by asking him to do what he could do. “Rise up, and stand forth in the midst.” He did. Then the Lord asked him to do what he couldn’t do. “..stretch forth thy hand.” Why did the Lord ask him to do this? Because it was an act of faith to reach his hand out. He acted out of faith and the Lord did the rest.

Dr. A.B. Simpson commented on this passage: “So many Christians have no hands! They have no grip in their fingers, no stamina in their will, no hold in their faith.” P. 134

Let’s work the Word. Believe for the impossible, don't stop when the obstacles come, and do what we can not do in the natural. God will perform His Word.

His Healing Power: Chapters 9-12

These 4 chapters are full of proof of the healing power of God. Chapter 9 covers the views of Christian Science vs. The Word. It is clear that the difference is that Christian Science believes that the disease is not real, you have just made it up in your mind and therefore you do not need to take medicine. The Christian believes the disease is real, we just deny the right for it to exist in our body because Jesus paid the price for us to be healed.

For us to experience divine healing we must first believe that whatever God has promised, it will come to pass. Dr. Yeoman tells the story of Mary, a young girl who sat on her grandfather’s lap ready to push a button that would blow up a place called “Hell’s Gate” in New York. Unknown to Mary, her grandfather had designed and executed a plan to place dynamite in strategic places so that when she pushed the button, the dynamite would explode. She had no idea how it was going to happen, she did not see the placement of the dynamite, all she knew was that her grandfather said it so it must be so.

The same is with us, we might not understand how or why sickness and disease were the results of sin but what we do understand is that faith in our Heavenly Father is the button that causes the dynamite power of God to be released on our bodies for healing to occur.

Let’s be like the hotel staff at Dr. Dowie’s Divine Healing Home, “…a staff of helpers all of whom were filled with faith in the Word of God. Their faces shone, and any one of them - from the furnace man to the elevator boy - was ready to preach you a sermon at a moment’s notice if you dared to doubt that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” p. 95 This should be us!

Just as I am without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me,

And that thou bidst me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come.

Whatever you are facing right now, just bring your case to Him! Read the Word, eat the Word, push the button of faith and watch what God does. His healing power will touch you and you will walk free and healed in Jesus Name!

Love,

Jesus

His Healing Power: Chapters 5-8

At Calvary, the site of Jesus’ death and ultimate sacrifice, we find forgiveness, peace, healing, prosperity, and victory over death and any thing else we may find lacking. His name alone reveals that He meets every need we may have. Jehovah, our redemption. Redeeming all the enemy took from us. Just look at the list:

Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord that heals

Jehovah-Jirah: The Lord that provides

Jehovah-Nissi: The Lord our banner

Jehovah-Salom: The Lord our peace

Jehovah-Ra-ah: The Lord our shepherd

Jehovah-Tsidkenu: The Lord our righteousness

Jehovah-Shanmah: The Lord is present

All that God promised us on Calvary through Jesus has to be applied to our lives by our faith. Calvary removes all the obstacles in our life that would prevent the power of God from operating. The Word works but is conditional upon our diligent hearing and faithful obedience.

How sweet are your loving promises to me, sweeter than honey is your revelation-light. Psalm 119:103

With that understanding we can enter into what Dr. Yeoman’s calls “The Praise Cure” She describes all the methods of modern medicine used in hopes of curing or halting disease. “And I am far from saying nothing is accomplished by these and other methods, but I do say that the cure of which I am going to speak is the only sure cure. it is the most expensive one ever known, but the price was paid for by another; for ‘it was purchased, not with corruptible things, as silver or gold….but with the precious blood of Christ….” p. 47

It is called the praise cure because you sing your way into it! Sing and shout your way into health. What are you waiting for? Don’t delay, begin right now.

Tread the young lion under your feet by the praise of faith. It has never failed and it never will. p. 51

Make your praise basket more full than your complaining basket.

Start by repeating this: “Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law, of which ____________ (insert your sickness, pain, or disease here) is a part, so Christ hath redeemed me from ___________.”

Now begin to shout and praise Him! Victory is yours!

His Healing Power: Chapters 1-4

Book one - Healing From Heaven

Wouldn’t you love to get to the point where you had “no further need of earthly remedies? The place where we actually trusted God, took His Word as medicine, and believed we were healed? I do. As I am writing this I am thinking about my sister-in-law, Mary. She left this Earth Friday morning as I was holding her hand. She was too young and cancer had spread every where in her body. The enemy whispered, “you lost,” but God shouts, “No! She is with me! Satan, you lost.

I believe that one of the greatest hindrances to healing is the absence of the knowledge of God’s Will.

Jeremiah 17:14 says, “ Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved…”

The victory is ours! Take it from the hands of God!

When you visit a doctor for a sickness, he or she must find the cause of the sickness or disease. We too must understand the cause in the spirit realm. The source of all disease is Satan! Therefore, we must shut off all connection with the source of evil.

“There is not a reinforcement which the prince of darkness can order up from the profoundest depths of his dark domain for which those who believe God’s Word are not more than a match; not a poison gas manufactured in Hell which the breath of God willl not dissipate; not a fiery dart which the shield of faith will not quench; not a pestilence which the precious blood, boldly displayed on the lintel and doorposts of our dwellings will not avert.” - p. 21

We are perfectly safe as long as we abide in the Word of God. The louder the enemy talks, the louder you must be and the more we must dig into His Word.

The one thing we have that the world doesn’t have is the blood of Jesus! It’s His blood that washes away our sin, makes us clean, wipes out sickness and disease, and protects us from all plagues.

“Why are though cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope though in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” - Psalm 42:11

His Healing Power: Introduction

For my birthday, Pastor Kempie gave me a session at Orangetheory. From their website: Orangetheory Fitness is an interval-based workout that uses heart rate monitors to encourage you to push yourself (based on your own fitness level) and includes three different components – interval training on the treadmill, indoor rowing and weight room floor exercises. Needless to say, I am neither athletic or in shape so it was interesting.

I was doing great for the first couple of weeks and then I hurt my knee stepping up on a step for a fancy squat (step up with a weight.) I babied it for three days and then went back for another workout. Everything was great and I had no knee pain until I went to get up off of the floor and hurt my other knee. Yes, you heard right, I was getting up off of the floor! By that night it was quite ridiculous as I hobbled and cried just to walk around. I whined, I took Motrin, I iced it, and had Pastor Kempie wait on me hand and foot (that part was quite nice).

What is sad, is that Jesus paid a price for me to walk in divine health and healing. The finished work of Calvary provided healing of every sickness and disease so that we could walk in divine health. Yet, we seem to be sicker and sicker, allowing chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, headaches, pain, to become part of our daily lives. We seem to settle for diseases that cause our life to be miserable as long as it doesn't kill us right away.

It is our inalienable right to enjoy health through the work accomplished on Calvary. It is our solemn responsibility to make this “saving health” (known) among all nations

Lillian B. Yoemans, M.D.

Reading through the 4 gospels we see that during the short 3 1/2 years of Jesus’ ministry on this earth, he healed many of all kinds of disease. We move to the book of Acts and we see the ministry of healing continued in the early church and should continue until he returns. We read about the Apostle Paul who was beaten to death with rocks, rise up and walk to the next village. Walked! He didn’t rest in a recliner, ice all his aches and pain, and take Motrin. He walked to the next village!

As children of God we must quit nursing our sickness and take the Word of God as medicine. For those who are in a fight for more serious sicknesses, we are believing with you. This is why for the next 2 months we will dig into Lillian B. Yoemans’s book His Healing Power . It is our prayer that you understand that healing is yours and we understand how to appropriate it in our lives. Let us all taste and see that the Lord is good!

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Final Chapter

If you haven’t read any other chapter make sure to stop what you are doing right now and read it! If you heard my message from Sunday (Mountain Movers Part 3) you know that I talked about “burn out”. I mentioned that I believe burning out is not an option when you are fueled by passion and filled with the spirit of God!

Jentezen opens up this chapter with an incredible example of never burning out by telling a story of a navy seal who was trained to never quit. The training had very little to do with physical fitness and everything to do with mental fitness. To complete the training — quitting could not be an option.

I will never quit...My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If I get knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates...I am never out of the fight.
— The Philosophy of The Navy Seal

Although, we may not have to endure the physical training of a navy seal we have to have that same tenacity to never quit! The enemy will stop at nothing to get us to quit on our God, our church, our marriages, our families, our children, our finances, and in every area. When we are in the midst of the battle we can draw strength from remembering what Jesus did for us. He. Did. Not. Quit. In fact, He would do it all over again for you.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up. - Hebrews 12: 1-3

Let’s determine to never quit this love walk that God desires us to live! Too much is at stake! I have enjoyed reading this book with you. Thank you to each of you have followed along these past two months. I’m excited to jump into a new book with you next week!

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Chapter 13

God never wants you to settle for where you are. He always wants more for you. Just like David did with the Jebusites, it is time for you to cut the head off the giant (doubt, unworthiness, bitterness), and place it on a stake to remind the enemy that whatever God promised will come to pass. It is a statement to the enemy that he hasn’t won and it is a reminder to you that you win!

Don't settle. The enemy always offers a counterfeit, a plan B. Ephesians 3:20 is a promise from God, “I am going to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you can imagine.”

David didn’t give up on God’s plan and you shouldn’t either. Listen to what God is saying.

  • He is for you

  • He is fighting for you

  • He wants you to win

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. then you will receive all that he has promised. For in just a little while, the Coming One will come an not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away. Hebrews 10:35-39

Believe what God says is true. Don’t give up! Keep fighting!

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Chapter 12

I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child. Just reading the story of the Caston family stirs emotion that I never want to experience but what I do want is that that same tenacity to continue to be unshakable in my love for God. When we face a battle where we feel and think we might not make it through we must know that He walks with us, His love remains forever, and we will draw strength from Him.

See our enemy has one flaw, he will not leave bad enough alone. Sometimes he keeps pushing and pushing so much that he pushes us straight into the arms of God.” page 189

The enemy’s goal is to get you to turn from God. He loses and you win when you run to God. Life is hard and you may be in one of the hardest moments of your life but there is one who knows all things and is all powerful, is holding you, and is walking you through this.

Choose to trust Him Choose to believe!

Psalm 30:5 says Joy comes in the morning. There have been times I have wanted to shout, “Come on morning!” Until the morning comes I will continue to run to Him, praise Him, and draw strength from Him.

He will see you through this, you will make it!

Pastor Lisa

Love Like You've Never been Hurt: Finish strong!

Take this time to get caught up on our reading! I want to encourage you to spend time in God’s Word this evening. Write some areas down where God has begun to mold and change you as you’ve been reading through this book. Do you have any other areas where you need to strategically love and forgive?

“Talk again. Pray again. Try again. Forgive again. Reach out again. Go to dinner again. Refuse to give up. Refuse to allow depression and worry and anxiety and frustration to overcome. Fill your valley with prayer. Fill it with praise. Fill it with scripture.”

- Jentezen Franklin | Love Like You’ve Never Been Hurt p. 182

If you’ve been reading this book and following along on this journey of truly being able to love and forgive you can now read these verses with a new revelation! Let’s continue to love like God desires us to love.

“If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poorand give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Chapter 11

Have you seen the movie, Monuments Men? These men risked their lives to preserve and protect cultural and artistic objects from Adolf Hitler. Yes you heard correctly, they were willing to die to preserve what someone had deemed worthy of saving. It is amazing to me that men would die for an inanimate object that doesn’t have the ability to love or receive love, yet men and women are not willing to bring that same kind of sacrifice to save their own family.

So I placed armed guards behind the lowest parts of the wall in the exposed areas. I stationed the people to stand guard by families, armed with swords, spears, and bows. Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”

Nehemiah 4:13-14

The same thing Nehemiah told the children of Israel is the same thing the Lord is saying to you today. “Don’t be afraid of the enemy, and fight!” The enemy is coming to destroy your marriages and your children. They built a wall to protect them and fight the enemy at the same time. You are called to do the same thing.

Here is the battle plan Jentezen laid out in the book:

Strategy 1: Strip the Streaks

Check the spiritual condition of your home. If it needs cleaning, clean it.

Strategy 2: Commit to your Commitments

Do not waver or compromise in your faith.

Don’t let culture define or influence your identity, your values, or your family. page 175

Strategy 3: Live by your Convictions

Strategy 4: Fight for What’s Left

If you find your family in a rough place, determine you are going to save what is left. Anoint your home and family. Speak a blessing over your family. Serve communion in your home.

If you are behind on reading, I want to encourage you to pick back up and join me as we finish this book strong!

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Ch. 10

Have you ever had hatred or just didn't like someone because of the opinion of others in your family? This person may have never really done anything to you but you could have possibly allowed the words of others to form and grow an opinion inside of your heart.

They have acted against them out of bitter revenge and long standing contempt.
— Ezek. 25:15

As children of God, this is not how we should live even if we believe we have a justified reason (at least in our human reasoning) because God says otherwise!

Every family has problems and every family has issues. The only way to make it through the storms is to have a foundation built on a relationship with Jesus Christ. This strong foundation will get us through any and all situation and makes us different than any other family.

What kind of garment are you passing down to the next generation?
— page 157

What is the tone of your family? Prayer, forgiveness, faith, love or worry, fear, bickering, bitterness? If it is the latter - it can change!

  1. Pray

  2. Stay Committed

  3. Be aware of your greatest tempation

  4. Say “I’m sorry” and mean it.

Let’s continue to let love grow on the inside of us and change us! As a result, our entire family will change too!

Love,

Pastor Lisa

Love Like You've Never Been Hurt: Ch. 9

70% of men will cheat on their wives.

60% of women will cheat on their husbands.

Let those statistics sink in for a moment! It is obvious that the enemy hates marriage and has an all out war on your marriage. Therefore, you must be on guard, alert, and ready to do any and everything to protect that covenant of marriage. Sex is powerful and must be kept in the confines of marriage. If not, it hurts not only the person who was betrayed, but the betrayer, and every member of the family.

Before the enemy gets you in the bed, he has to get in your head. page 139

Jentezen Franklin gives us 4 steps to affair proof your marriage:

Get it out of your head

Respect one another

Take responsibility

Rekindle the romance

Have a made up mind
